Careers Programme

At St Mary’s, we promote an inspirational culture in which every pupil feels valued, supported and challenged to reach their full potential. Our comprehensive Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme plays a central role in this, helping pupils to understand themselves, explore opportunities, and prepare confidently for their future pathways.

The word grow next to a plant, the word discover next to a looking glass, the word navigate next to a compass, and the word prepare next to a rocket.

By considering the future:

  • Pupils will be motivated in the present so that they make the most of academic and personal opportunities.
  • Pupils will see how many opportunities are out there and feel confident in questioning and challenging barriers to those opportunities.
  • Pupils will develop the skills to make choices that are right for them, enabling them to secure those opportunities and navigate the challenges of the world of work successfully.

Our careers provision is shaped by the Department for Education’s 2025 Statutory Careers Guidance, and we are actively working towards full alignment with the Updated 2025 Gatsby Benchmarks for Good Career Guidance, the national framework that underpins high quality careers education across England.
