In the event of snow closure:
Teachers will not set work for the first fully closed day. Pupils are free to enjoy the snow (carefully and responsibly) with their friends and family.
For days immediately following the first full day, teachers will set pupils classwork to complete through Satchel. Classwork tasks should appear in red on pupils’ to-do lists (homework tasks appear in green).
All pupils make use of Satchel on a day-to-day basis and should therefore have no trouble accessing their work, however, further information on how to access Satchel can be found under the Home Learning section of our website.
Where the school remains closed for an extended period of time, some GCSE and A level classes may take place through Microsoft Teams. In such cases, pupils are expected to attend and must abide by the code of conduct outlined below. Teachers will indicate where lessons will take place through Satchel, and Teams lessons will always take place in normally timetabled periods.
Pupils are only expected to do their best to complete the work that has been set. If they struggle with something, or have difficulties with access, they must not worry – their teachers understand the challenges of home learning! Pupils should just do their best to complete whatever they can.
Access issues can be emailed to remoteprovision@stmaryschesterfield.org.uk. Our IT Support team will endeavour to get back to pupils as soon as possible, but please bear in mind that they only operate within normal working hours. The team will need to contact a parent/carer to verify any request to reset passwords.
