St Mary’s Catholic High School is an outstanding (OFSTED June 2024) and over-subscribed 11-18 mixed Academy with excellent student behaviour and outcomes. The GCSE and A Level exam results are exceptional in all three Science specialisms at St Mary’s. At GCSE, students achieve outstanding outcomes that allow them to take Biology, Chemistry and Physics at A Level. The numbers are now such that each subject boasts three groups in Years 12 and 13, with 53 students achieving A*s/As in 2025. In particular, the Chemistry department regularly secures 80%+ students A*-B grade at A Level and have helped students go onto study science-based courses at the UK’s top institutions post-18, including Oxford and Cambridge.
We are seeking to appoint a creative and motivated Early Career or experienced mainscale Teacher of Chemistry who is looking to work in an outstanding, collaborative and dynamic Science department and school. The successful applicant will be a Chemistry specialist, with excellent subject knowledge and a passion for supporting all students to fulfil their potential.

• An exceptional classroom practitioner, delivering lessons that motivate and inspire our students to achieve.
• Able to contribute effectively to the delivery of Chemistry across all key stages.
