The Pastoral System

St Mary’s High School strives to be a Catholic community in which principles of care and respect are valued, with emphasis on the development of the young person through academic achievement, holistic personal development and religious formation. The pastoral care system is the lynchpin of our school, as our structure and procedures are designed to support the emotional welfare and safety of our school community. Our traditional structure of teaching staff taking the roles of Form Tutors, Heads of Year, Heads of Key Stage and senior pastoral staff ensures that there is an experienced network of highly skilled staff to support the wellbeing and safeguarding needs of all pupils.
