St Mary’s Catholic High School is a popular 11-18 mixed Academy with excellent student behaviour and judged to be ‘Outstanding’ (Ofsted October 2012).   This is a wonderful opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team at one of the top 20% performing schools for attainment in the country. 

The Governors are seeking to appoint a talented and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to take responsibility for the strategic leadership of the Catholic life and mission of the school and the line management of Religious Studies and Chaplaincy.   

If you have a proven track record of successfully delivering and leading whole school initiatives, this could be the exciting next step to enhance your flourishing career.  The successful candidate will be a highly visible, collaborative and aspirational leader who will model the highest levels of professionalism and inspire, motivate and develop staff and pupils.

Applicants should have:

  • A passion for providing the best possible education for all pupils
  • Substantial and successful middle leadership experience in a secondary setting
  • A proven track record of raising standards, delivering whole school improvements and developing a culture of accountability
  • A high degree of personal integrity, strong personal drive and resilience
  • The ability to inspire confidence in making management and organisational decisions
