March 2022

Dear Parents/Carers

Uniform Policy Amendment for Year 7 – Year 11 Girls – Navy Trousers

Uniform is a vital part of our identity as a school, and we continue to expect high standard of uniform from all our pupils.  Following pupil and parent surveys, I am delighted to announce that we will now be offering the option for girls to wear navy trousers.

Our new uniform supplier, Parade School Wear, have our navy trousers in stock.  Girls will only be allowed to wear the navy trousers supplied by Parade – no other variation of trouser will be accepted, this is to ensure uniformity and availability.

The trousers retail at £19.99 and are available in store and online now. I have attached the link to the website for your convenience; https://paradeschoolwear.co.uk/

If pupils opt to wear trousers, they must wear black ankle socks, trainer socks are not permitted.

Trousers are available in a variety of waist and length sizes. Trousers should be full length; they should not come above the ankle.

In order to give pupils time to purchase trousers Monday 25 April 2022 will be the first day of our new uniform option.

SUMMER UNIFORM

Girls will change to summer uniform on Monday 16 May 2022. Traditionally the change to summer uniform meant that the girls would wear the summer dress, however, girls can now choose to wear navy trousers during the summer term instead.

The summer uniform for girls is therefore as follows:

  • Option 1 Y7-11 blazer, shirt long or short sleeve, tie with Parade School Wear navy trousers and black ankle socks
  • Option 2 Y7-9 blazer, summer dress, white ankle socks/navy tights. (Y10-11 girls may also wear flesh coloured tights)

Summer dresses can be purchased from Parade School Wear or Monkhouse.

Pupils will not be allowed to wear the winter uniform (box pleated skirt) during the summer period, other than Y11 girls.

Pupils have the freedom to change between trousers and summer dresses if they wish throughout the summer period, but the uniform policy must be followed.  Wearing PE kit on PE days will also continue.

I am really pleased that we can now offer trousers as an option for girls, and we thank you for your continued support with upholding our uniform standards.

Should you have any questions regarding any uniform matters, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me (email address: lhood@stmaryschesterfield.org.uk).

Yours faithfully
