Dear Parents/Carers

From tomorrow, 27 January 2021, the national requirement for face coverings comes to an end. The Department for Education are no longer recommending that facemasks are worn by pupils in school. Therefore, there from tomorrow there will be no requirement for facemasks to be worn in communal areas and on the school buses. We will, of course, continue to allow any pupil who wishes to wear a mask to do so.

Whilst the requirement for facemasks to be worn comes to an end, we will continue to implement all the safety measures recommended by the DfE, including:

  • Our enhanced cleaning regime will continue.
  • Pupils are still advised to frequently sanitise and wash their hands.
  • Classrooms will remain well-ventilated, and we will continue to use the CO2 monitors provided by the government to monitor ventilation.
  • Asymptomatic testing will continue to be recommended twice weekly. We frequently issue pupils with additional tests after assembly.

In addition, we will continue to monitor the daily number of confirmed COVID cases in each class/form group and we will liaise with Derbyshire Public Health if an increase in cases is identified.

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully

Mr A Breedon

Assistant Headteacher
