Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to share with you some information pertaining to the Year 11 Mock Day, which is scheduled for Wednesday 1 December 2021. Pupils will undertake a mock exam in their three core subjects; Mathematics, English and Science. The exams will take place in a formal setting, similar to how the real GCSE exams are sat. This purpose of this day is to support the success of Year 11 pupils in their core subjects and identify if any early support/intervention is needed.

In order to ensure consistency across the curriculum, please note that any learning and/or preparation needed for the Mock Day will take place in lessons, and pupils will not be expected to complete additional work for these days. Homework from the core subjects will be revision based leading up to the Mock Day, and will still only be allocated on the usual day, for the expected amount of time per subject. We expect that pupils keep up to date with their homework across all other areas of the curriculum during this time.

I will write to you shortly to outline the order of the day.

If you have any questions regarding the Mock Day, please do not hesitate to get in touch. My email address is lhood@stmaryschesterfield.org.uk.

Yours faithfully

Miss L Hood
