We have arranged a study day at Chester Zoo for all Year 12 Biology students on Wednesday 14 July. The day will involve a hands on session on “classification and genetics” as well as a workshop on Evolution using bioartefacts and in-zoo examples. Both areas feature prominently on the Eduqas specification.
We plan to leave school at 9.00am prompt and depart from the zoo at 4.00pm, so should be back at St Mary’s by around 6.00pm. The students will each attend 2 workshops run by zoo staff, each lasting around an hour. Once these sessions are finished students are given time to walk around the zoo site in small groups of their
choice, they will not be supervised by a member of staff during this period.
