Two students from St Mary’s recently completed a one day visit to Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Poland as part of their participation in the Lessons from Auschwitz Project run by the Holocaust Educational Trust. Joshua and Mia

first visited the town of Oświęcim where they learnt about pre-war Jewish life before taking in the emotional surroundings of both Auschwitz I and Auschwitz-Birkenau. The day finished with a candlelit vigil delivered by a Rabbi at the Birkenau memorial. Both Mia and Josh will now be acting as ambassadors in school and will pass on the lessons from Auschwitz to other pupils.
