I have been on the Governing Body since 1999.
I am a Foundation Governor and currently serve on the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
Prior to semi-retiring in 2003 I was actively involved in project and programme management for the Business Systems Division of Royal Mail. My main involvement was on major business change projects throughout the UK. My work also took me overseas.
I believe that working at this level has given me the necessary knowledge and skills required to work effectively as a governor at
St Mary’s – particularly in the areas of financial control, project management and business change.
From 2004 until August 2012 I worked as the Learning Mentor Coordinator at Parkside Community School and in the Chesterfield Excellence Cluster. The knowledge and experience I gained in this role has proved invaluable in helping me carry out my duties and responsibilities as a governor at St Mary’s.
I am a keen golfer and have had a passion for football from a very young age. As well as playing at a decent level in Scotland I have also, over the years, coached a number of junior and adult football teams in Scotland and England. I love working with young people.
What is important to me as a governor is for St Mary’s to continue to thrive and provide this unique learning experience for the young people of our communities.
