Examinations 2009
Best Ever A-Level Results at St Mary's
The students and staff of St Mary's are celebrating our best ever set of A-Level results.
The percentage of A grades is 43% and A or B grades together accounted for 70%, a marvellous achievement.
Many individuals gained outstanding sets of A level results. In fact, 13% of our students gained 4 or more A grades.
As Headteacher, I am very proud of the students in this year group. I want to thank them for their hard work, eagerness to learn and enormous contribution to the life of the school. I would also like to congratulate them on their remarkable examination success and wish them well for the future.
I would also add that I am indebted to our hard-working and talented staff without whom this high level of achievement could not be sustained.
OUTSTANDING GCSE RESULTS
Pupils and staff of St Mary’s Catholic High School are highly delighted with the set of outstanding GCSE results this year. The 5 A*-C figure is 90% (our equal best ever) and the figure for 5 A*-C (including English and Maths) is at 82%, up 13% on last year.
Mr McClafferty, Headteacher, paid tribute to the hard work of pupils and staff,
‘ Pupils and staff should be very proud of what we have achieved here at St Mary’s this year. So much hard work and commitment not just this year, but over the last 5 years have helped us produce these results. I am so proud of every single pupil and wish them all the very best in the future’
